  • Indiana Trip, Part 2!

     My Indiana Trip
    (continued!)

September 12-14, 2009. Sunday afternoon; These are some more pictures of that same day where I left off; we were walking around the barnyard and I had lots of opportunities for some cool pictures!

I love this one, it's my great-grandparent's house...

Buckeye likes to get her picture taken! She's my Uncle and Aunt's dog

     Indiana fields...

Silhouettes of my Grandma, Mom and Uncle Darrell

    Just hanging out, looking around...

I think this was a weed, but it was a pretty one!

    A few awesome pictures....

    Jessica, Kristen and Courtney

This rope was just begging for me to take its picture....

So later that afternoon, Mom, Kristen, Jessica, Courtney and I headed over to see Aunt Diane at her house on the lake.

Aunt Diane was the only one there when we went over, the others were all out on the lake in Uncle Roger's boat. We got to see Savanna for the first time though! She's Mom's cousin's baby...and I don't know what she is to me...

She liked playing with my jewrely...

    Savanna and I

    Trying to keep her happy!

    She's so cute!

Mom and Aunt Diane (Great-aunt, in case you get confused!)

It was a beautiful day, so we went outside then for a while! This is the lake house, the view from the lake...

    And the old boat!

    ~Courtney~

    Enjoying the water

    My awesome sandals...

The sun was really bright and shining in my eyes! Hence the weird look on my face...

    Kristen and Jessica

    Kristen's sandals....

    Mom, Aunt Diane, and Savanna

Kristen borrowed my camera to take a couple of pictures...

    Kristen and Savanna!

Just driving on the way home, I kind of liked the way the sun shone on the fields

Back at Grandma and Grandpa's house...

     Buckeye is too cute!

    Playing cards inside....

    ~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~~/~/~/~

On Monday we went back over to the farm so I could take pictures of this...it's an old potato sorter that my Great-grandpa used to have...

See the sign? It was from way back when they had those party lines, I think...and you had one phone number for a bunch of people and then they had extensions! Isn't that cool?

So then we were heading home, back to Illinois, and we all went here for lunch!

And then Mom, Kristen and I walked around to look at everything...it was a really neat place!

I love this picture! It's like one of my favorites!

    Some of the beautiful flowers...

    They had carriage rides there

    Cool, huh?

Can you find Kristen and I in this picture?? We're in there...

    A quilt garden

     Super cute wishing well!!

    On the way home....

Kristen doesn't look tired at all, does she?

Mom was driving, obviously....I don't drive and take pictures of myself at the same time

The sunset in Chicago...apparently our windshield was kind of dirty...

And that's the end! I would have loved to have more time out there, but it was a great couple of days and I am very glad I got to go!

Hope you all are having a wonderful day!

  • Indiana Trip, Part 1!

    ~ INDIANA ~

On September 12th -14th I was able to go to Indiana and visit our relatives for a couple days! I took lots of pictures, but here are the first few. . . all that it will let me upload, for now!

Kristen and I went later, we got there sometime on Saturday afternoon. These pictures are from Sunday afternoon. . . after church and lunch, we went over to the farm to look around. It was my great-grandparents' farm, but they're both gone now. It's just down the road from Grandma and Grandpa's house, where we were staying. . . so Kristen, Jessica and I rode in the back of Uncle Darrell's truck! Can't pass up an opporunity like that!

    _Kristen_

Uncle Darrell and Aunt Stephanie's dog, Buckeye! Of course she rode in the back of the truck with us. . . or rather, we rode with her! She wants to give Kristen some kisses!

Jess and I. My hair is all over the place because we were driving really fast down the road

Here's the old farmhouse! I love this place, lots of memories!

The barnyard. . . well, a couple of the barns, anyway!

Jessica, Kristen, Mom, and Grandma Bonnie

The old bell cast iron bell they have outside the door

I'm not sure what it is with me and taking pictures of myself in the mirror! But this is inside the house

Upstairs in the bedrooms, this is looking out across the road

And the other side of the house. . .

The three of us on at the top of the stairs; a random picture, I guess!

This is in the living room downstairs, looking out

The kitchen. . .we always loved eating and playing cards here!

The porch swing! We played on this all the time. . .

The view from the backyard, this is back toward the road.

And a couple pictures out across the field

    Gotta love the barbed wire!

Those are all the pictures that I was able to get on here for now! Hope you all have a great day!

  • The Corn Maze!!!

    ~\~The Corn Maze~/~
Last Sunday I went with Kristen, Daniel and Josiah, and my cousins Jessica and Courtney, to the Jonamac Orchard, so we could get lost in their 10-acre corn maze!

On the way there...well..Jessica's driving, what else can I say?? Just kidding, it really wasn't that, I was just making funny faces for no particular reason!

      ~Kristen and I~

    ~Jess~

The Four Stooges....we had a carful!

Jessica's sweet little angel she has hanging in her car, which insisted on trying to attack me....I don't know how many times I hit my head on that thing!

The Adventurers are ready to begin!! We each got a map of the maze, and clues for the scavenger hunt! Of course, my map didn't do me much good....I was always hopelessly lost, because I was too busy taking pictures to pay attention to exactly where we were!

It's a good thing someone knows where we're going!

Whoa! Look what I found!! Corn!!

Jessica and I, we reached Point A of the Scavenger hunt! At each one, we had to punch a hole in our papers to prove we had been there.

    Just me....

Me with my map....if you look close enough, you may be able to make out the design somewhat. It was a picture of Abraham Lincoln in the center, to celebrate his 200th birthday!

    Here they all are!
~Josiah, Kristen, Stephen, Jessica, Daniel and Courtney~

Courtney got a little hungry along the way.... Don't worry, we stopped her before she ate the whole maze...

    "This way!", Jessica says....

    And off they go!!

There were these wooden platforms you could go up on, if you got too lost! We were lost...

    ~Kristen~

This is the view from the top...kinda cool!

I don't know who that one guy is, but he wouldn't move...so, guess he gets to be on my xanga!

Daniel took this picture for me!

They had several of these "Waypoints" to give you hints on where to go....they were pretty cool, but you probably can't read this!

A few kind of neat pictures I took....

Kristen and Jessica saying...."We have no idea where the kids went....but oh well!" They don't seem too sad about losing them....

And the kids are nowhere to be found! We did find them after a while though....it was hard to actually lose the kids, since they were loud enough that we could hear them half-way across the maze!   What a shame...better luck next time, I say!

The sky changed a lot while we were there! It was all gray and cloudy, then it was blue, then it rained, then it was fine again....I don't know what was up with it!

No, I think we should go THIS way! I don't think so, we definitely have to go THAT way! Um, guys, I know I'm right here, we really should be heading this direction! Well, you get the idea...

    We're lost!!!

Here we are on Point E, only one more to go! Looks like some people are getting a little tired of running all over the cornfield! The maze has 3 miles of trails, but I know  we walked way more than that, what with getting lost and turned around!

Finally!! We made it out!! We actually spent 2 whole hours in the corn maze!! Of course, once we got out and realized that clue "F" was NOT at the exit like we had thought....we had to go ALLLL the way back into the maze, to the opposite end, so we could find it and get our papers punched!!

When we finally got out for real....THIS is what we got as a prize! Hmm....I'm thinking all that work for this?! Just kidding, it was a TON of fun!! We had a great time!!!

So then we went over to the store in the orchard, and bought apples to make caramel apples back at home! Then, everyone posed for a picture on this giant rocking chair!

And here's the sign for the orchard

Driving back! I'd never tried this kind of picture before, but I think it's really cool!

Of course, had to get a picture of the sunset over the cornfields! What else do you expect from Illinois??

That's all I have for today!

  •    Chicago Cubs vs. Milwaukee Brewers
         Miller Park -- Milwaukee, WI

So on Monday night, I went to a Cubs/Brewers game with all of my family (except Mom) and some other people, too!

I drove up to Milwaukee with Kristen and my cousin Caleb, so here we are

    ~Kristen~

So Caleb occupied himself for a long time by trying to open the armrest...which I had never opened before and it was very stuck! It was so funny! It took him a long time, but he finally did get it open....after breaking several items doing so...

Even if it looks like my eyes are closed in this picture...don't worry, I don't think they are!

    ~Miller Park~

Walking in the concourse (I think that's what we call it...), Justin, Kristen and Grandma

Our car is parked somewhere down there...and it cost $25 to park there! What a rip-off! I told the lady that, too...but she didn't really care what I thought about it, I don't think...

    Caleb and I

This is the view from our seats...we were kind of far up!

I guess you can figure out who this is...

Josiah, Stephen, Corbin, Elliott, and Daniel enjoying the game

    Daniel...

Isn't Stephen so cute with his missing teeth??

    ~ Stephanie & Gloria ~

    Some of the others...

    ...and that's all for now!

    ~!~Stephanie~!~

Edited To Add: Okay, I forgot to mention how the game actually went...the Cubs beat the Brewers 10-2! They got 7 of their runs in the first 2 innings! So yeah...
